Load Calculator

Load Profit Calculator

Run any load in 30 seconds. Pay, miles, fuel, truck payment, dispatch, factoring, escrow — net profit and break-even rate per mile in real time.

A load calculator (sometimes called a freight calculator or load profit calculator) answers the only question that matters: after everything, how much do I keep? Brokers quote gross. You take home net. The two are very different numbers.

We factor in: loaded + deadhead miles, fuel price and MPG, truck and trailer payments (with optional split across loads per week), insurance, maintenance escrow, dispatch fee, factoring fee, tolls, lumper, parking, scale, and any other deductions. The result is your real net profit, profit per mile, and break-even rate per mile.

Use it before you accept dispatch. Whether you're running OTR, regional, dedicated, or hot shot — the math is the same: know your numbers before you roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if a load is worth taking?

Calculate net profit, not gross pay. Take total pay, subtract fuel, truck/trailer payment portion, dispatch and factoring fees, tolls, and other deductions. If net profit per mile is below your target take-home, walk away.

What is a good rate per mile?

It depends on your fixed costs. Most lease purchase drivers need $1.80–$2.20/mi just to break even, and $2.50+/mi to earn real take-home pay. Hot shot drivers typically need $1.75–$2.50/mi loaded depending on the truck and trailer setup.

Should I count deadhead miles in the rate calculation?

Always. Deadhead miles cost you fuel and wear with zero revenue. A load's real rate per mile is total pay ÷ (loaded + deadhead miles).

Can I save loads I've calculated?

Yes — with the Pro plan ($9.99/mo). Save every load with a label, view your full load history, and track weekly and monthly profit trends. The free calculator works without saving anything.
